Leopard Sharks

Yesterday I decided to head out and dive with the leopard sharks off the Marine Room restaurant. Conditions have been excellent recently and there is a huge storm coming into southern California in the next few days. As I dropped down to about 10 feet, the sharks came into view. They scattered due to the noise of my regulator, snorkeling would have been a better option.

Dive details:

Water Temp: 63F (lifeguards were calling 59F surface temp)
Visibility: 15-20 feet, better out towards the canyon (tropical like visibility with sunbeams coming down to the sand bottom)
Waves: 1-2 feet but basically flat

Dive Stats:

Thermal: 7mm wetsuit, booties, gloves
Weight: 12 pounds
Tank: Steel HP 80 (3500 psi)
BC: Deep Outdoors backplate with 32 pound wing (-6 pounds)
Fins: Scubapro Jet fins with spring fin straps
Dive time: 90 mins
Max depth: 20 feet
